Great Dale
While the Sea of Grass of the east takes up nearly a half the Eastern Realms, the second largest plains of grass is called the Great Dale and it acts like a barrier between the Southern and Eastern Realms. The Great Dale is known for its tall, thick green and yellow wild grasses. It is home to the Goliskt Tribes, much like the Sea of Grass is home to the numerous Mhentilik Nomads. Unlike the Sea of Grass that is not entirely a plain, with its rolling hills and eastern plateau, the Great Dale is absolutely a true plain, it is nearly perfectly flat geographically speaking. It does have its gulleys, sunken portions, and the occasional crevasses that become home to many other animals and beasts ranging from ranuri and centaurs to pygmy trolls and gantu to wild packs of dogs, lions, gazelles, cheetahs and other such animals.
The Goliskt Tribes are the dominate population of humanoids in the region. They are made up predominately of junde humans, and specifically the uhan bloodline. They have long made this region their home and is dotted with semi-permanent homes called gherum, which are portable, square tents built from collapsible walls made up from skins, a latticework of hard mahogany wood frames for doors and ribs with similar construction for a roof that is supported by a central beam.
Most of the Eastern and Southern Realms view the Great Dale as a regional state, self governed by the Goliskt Tribes that are divided into seven distinct tribes, with each "ruling" over a portion of the Great Dale. The ultimate aim of life in the Great Dale amongst the tribes is quite simple: obey kinship rules, be good relative. Every other consideration was secondary—property, personal ambition, glory, good times, life itself. Without that aim and constant struggle to attain it, the people would no longer be Goliskt in truth. They would no longer even be human. To be a good Goliskt, then, is to be civilized. And to be civilized is to keep the rules imposed by kinship for achieving civility, good manners, and a sense of responsibility toward every individual dealt with. There are numerous trade moot locations the two greatest are: Yhuntak on the edge of Ahamkara and the end of the Green Tea Road; the other is Khyber on the border with the Kingdom of Sadhaka.
