Vilmar: The Valley of Echoes
The Valley of Echoes, is so named because of the continual echoes of screams and cries that come from the darkness and shadows. The Vilmar was the vile creation during the Convergence of Planes in 8,0000 B.F.A. when powerful demons in the service of the Lord of Darkness Azahak gathered in Gor Gul to perform a dark ritual to allow the Lord of Darkness to set foot once again on Ta Los and attempt to release the Great Chaos into the Omniverse and to open up the world and the Ominverse to the demons, fiends and devils of Neter Kheret.
This ritual aligns the Omniverse with the evil plane of Neter Kheret and the boundaries between the Celestial and the Omniverse to weaken and begin to breakdown. This causes the whole Omniverse to shit creating dimensional rifts across the breadth and width of the entire known Omniverse destroying hundreds of thousands of inhabited planets, thousands of Solvetras and several hundred Arphemhals.
On Kralis in the Southern Realms of Ta Los this rift manifests and begins to tear the ground beneath Gor Gul as cosmic energy and dark magic disintegrate the earth and opens a vast gate to Neter Kheret. As the ritual begins to reach its height known reality warps as hundreds of thousands of demons, fiends, devils and other creatures of darkness all of whom invade not only the Omniverse but Ta Los. The Omniverse once again fills the presence of the Ohngwe (Great Old Ones), the BhetAmi (Children of Chaos) and Titans. Many of these ancient monsters break free of their prisons and escape into the Omniverse and attempt to return the Omniverse back to the rule of the Great Chaos.
With the rift expanding and foul creatures escaping from Neter Kheret and dark, dimensional prisons, Gor Gul floated like an island high above the resulting canyon beneath it. The whole of Kralis shook as it began to relinquish its prisoner: the Great Chaos.
As the ritual reached its zenith a group known as the Ghosts of the Wind in an alliance with Chovah armies from Garandor, humans from Uthar Teg, Fhen Khanur clans from Junik and the Ta’Jahu Nal Salaith, assaulted Gor Gul as it hung in the sky above the ever expanding rift. In a final pitched battle the ritual was stopped, Gor Gul fell into the depths of the vast canyon thousands of feet below, closing the rift. The Ghosts of the Wind were never seen or heard from again, legend and myth holds that they fell into the Neter Kheret and have been trapped there forever.
The valley has forever been considered cursed by the gods, where vile, horrific things rise up from time to time to terrorize the Southern Realms. It is a dark region occupied by fell creatures of all types from fiends and demons, to hazor to dark and powerful dragons.
The Valley, which is more of a canyon, is massive. Its reach extends from the center of the Hills of Ahlmor near Adraros extending some 1900 miles into the Empire of Rinsha Adynshra and over 100 miles wide. It is thousands feet deep at its center its edges are vertical drop offs creating sheer cliffs. It is said that at its bottom exists an dark, inner sea which itself is hundreds of feet deep and covers a great deal of the center of the valley. Sitting on an island of black stone are the ruins of Gor Gul, the City of Demons.
